Columbia Bancorp, headquartered in The Dalles, Oregon, is the bank holding company for its subsidiary, Columbia River Bank. Columbia River Bank is an outstanding community bank serving the businesses, professionals and families of our market areas.

In 1976, several businessmen discovered a common dissatisfaction with the available banking services in The Dalles. Pooling their resources and gathering like-minded individuals, in 1977 Columbia River Banking Company was chartered and opened a single office as Columbia River Bank in The Dalles, Oregon. From the beginning, the Columbia River Bank has resolved to remain a local, community driven bank. In 1996, the holding company, Columbia Bancorp, was formed with Steve Martin as Chairman of the Board and Terry Cochran as President. Later that year, Klickitat Valley Bank (with branches in White Salmon and Goldendale, Washington) was purchased.  

Thirty years later, Columbia River Bank stands as one of the largest community banks in the Northwest. The bank has grown both by opening new branches and by merging with other community banks. Remaining a community-focused bank, today Columbia River Bank's services expand far beyond those first early years. In one stop, Columbia River Bank provides the local community members with the variety of choices most often found only in urban areas.
